I had my second "test" day at work today. The office/warehouse is called Home Elegance spelled Homelegance lol. They distribute and wholesale furniture pieces that you see at your local furniture store. If all goes as planned, I should be getting my car this weekend and I can start my job full-time on Monday. :D
My mommy, aunty, and my cousin Carol (along with my cousin's boyfriend, Philip, whom my mother only acknowledge's as her nieces "friend" so we'll just leave it at that lol) should be coming up this weekend. Hopefully she'll get me a car, or at least give me her car ::crosses fingers::.
It's unnerving to find that your parents planned out your life long before you had any idea you were about to embark on your future. I can't help but feel that my mom planned all along, not helping me get a car so that I would have to be forced to move back home after college. Resilience, I suppose, is the major lesson learned; to never give up and to appreciate those that sacrifice so much and most of the time, gain so little.
This job has a lot of different tasks for me (accounting, data entry, customer service, administrative, etc.) so I get to choose what I'd like to focus on at work. I think this is going to be a good start for my own career path.
And to end with a quote from the 1951 version of "Alice in Wonderland,"
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"
I can't wait for the Tim Burton remake! :)
