Saw Despicable Me last night and it was so much fun! I think almost everyone fell in love with Margo, Edith, and Agnes; and I have a new found love of unicorns lol.
The movie was pretty awesome but the theater was jam-packed with viewers young and old. It's always awkward when you're sitting near the "crying baby" or the "talks-to-much little kid." The little girl in front of us just started crying nonstop and it was unbearable. The worst part was when the other movie goers started booing their parents and demanded that they leave the theater. We felt so bad for them, and incredibly embarrassed, but there is a fine line that can be crossed when it comes to bringing small children to movies. Then again, this movie was made for small children but how small is too small? Or young rather. Toddlers and infants can't understand a movie so why bring them, but then you have another child that wants to go to the movies with mom and dad and they can't find a sitter, bam! you're at the movies with your 5-year-old son/daughter and your 13-month-old screaming child because you want to be that mom and/or dad that can do it all. I wish we can cut all parents a little slack when we're watching family films, after all it is for the family. But I also wish parents can be more considerate of their children as well, movies are loud and a nuisance to babies, so take turns taking your kids to the movies. It's all about self-sacrifice, raising children, or so I've been told. Now for those crazy parents that are into scary-slasher-blood-n-gore-creeper movies that are just dying for a good scare, keep your children at home. Not only will everyone hate you for bringing your kids to an R-rated movie, most people will probably think you're clinically insane and are probably inadvertently subjecting your kids to some type of childhood trauma which will lead to anti-socialism and anxiety; I'm just saying.
All in all, a pretty good weekend, glad we ended it with a good movie. :)
